...Cleide wheelchair appeal

Cleide"My name is Cleide and I live in a town called San Jose which is in Brazil. I live with by mother and twin sister called Cleidejana.

I am unable to walk and until recently, unless neighbour carried me to church I had to sit inside our house because I did not have a wheelchair.

Last year, you kindly donated money towards the purchase of a wheelchair specifically designed for my body infrastructure and disabilities. This has greatly changed my life for I am now able to go outside on a regular basis.
I really enjoy painting and I am now able to do this in the fresh air and can sell my pictures to help pay for my upkeep. I would like to thank you for your generosity and support."

Ritva, Angie and friends would like to thank you for your generous support and donations for the Cleide Wheelchair Appeal.
The Cheese and Wine Party held at Woodley Salon raised over £500 towards the cost of buying a specifically designed wheelchair for Cleide's disabilities and the Brazilian climate. Donations are still coming in and the figure has now risen to £566.
Cleide is 19 years old and lives with her twin sister and mother in a tiny room in Brazil. Whilst Cleidejana can walk, Cleide can only leave the house once a year when she is carried by a friend or neighbour.

Purchasing a wheelchair is a step towards improving the quality of Cleide's life and self sufficiency, not only for Cleide but also her family.

Thank you again for your support.
